What Causes Hair Loss in Women?

It is very unusual for women to experience extreme hair loss which results to total baldness, unlike men, but they somehow experience hair loss subtly. Women experience hair loss due to the following reasons, but are not limited to:

  • Hereditary

Hereditary hair loss is actually not a disease. It is a natural condition which resulted from genetics combination

  • Vitamin Deficiency

Women who eat foods without the necessary vitamins and minerals the hair need may experience hair fall. Vitamins B3 and C, Niacin and Biotin and minerals such as Iron and Zinc provide nutrients to the hair to make it healthier, stronger, thicker and longer.

  • Aging and Menopausal

Aging and menopausal are both inevitable. As a woman reaches the stage of menopausal, hair loss is likely to happen because of the low levels of progesterone and estrogens which will result to thinning of follicles and hair fall.

  • Medications Taken

When hair loss is caused by medications taken, hair will likely re-grow after a woman stops taking her medications.
